Ah, much better!

A few weeks ago, we bought a second vehicle. While waiting for our license plate to come in the mail, I've been using a temporary base pass. It's just not the same. It felt like the car was naked without those DoD stickers. Yesterday, the plate finally arrived and I practically ran to the base vehicle registration office. After getting the stickers, I ran the car through the car wash and went back home to put the stickers on. Yes! not naked anymore!

...so what kind of car was this naked car?

I can't imagine the need for DoD stickers, but then again, I'm the crazy bumper-sticker lady.

LOL I had to laugh when I read this. I'm going thru the same thing right now. My year sticker has faded (we have some defective stickers up here) and I'm chasing them around trying to get a new one, very hard when the office is open 4 hours a week in what seems like 20 min periods! But I feel naked without the whole set on my windshield... as if the other cars are laughing at mine.

Huh...our base doesn't even require DoD stickers anymore. We have had 100% ID checks since 9-11 so to save money they have eliminated the car stickers as they don't serve a purpose as an identifier any longer. Actually I don't mind, since my vehicle can't be identified out in a civilian parking lot as belonging to military personnel. It seems safer.

It does feel weird not having the stickers... We had to finally take ours off when we got to our new base because they expired. I felt so sad taking it off..
Here there is no need... not only do they do 100% ID check, but they also scan the IDs to make sure the person handing them their ID is actually the person who is supposed to have the ID...
