This is in front of the main gate to an installation that is home to some noisy machines. I like it!
I posted before on the sound of freedom here. What does freedom sound like to you?

Probably very close to what it sounds like for you. ;)

I like the sign, too.

That is a very interesting sign. I like it..

As for what freedom sounds like to me. It is the whining of the jets as they start to taxi on the run way, it is the sound of loud voice playing revelry and retreat to start and end the day, it is also Taps that plays at night, reminding us to remember those that have fallen.

What a great sign! For me the sound of freedom is reveille at the end of the day (we are currently at an AFB and they don't do reveille like the Army does) and artillery rattling your windows :)

I love all of the sounds mentioned. I also like the sound of PT being run, marching, and formations.

Nothing lulls me to sleep better than listening to Taps and then hearing the tanks firing out at the range.

I think no matter where I am the sounds of cheers will always remind me of homecoming ceremonies. I don't think there is any sports event that could match the sound of cheers mingled with tears and the stomp of weary Soldiers coming home.

It would have when "Retreat" and "To the Colors" play when the Flag is lowered each day at 5pm.....it has always reminded me of what a precious gift we have in each service member that risks their lives for our Freedom.... for Old Glory, our emblem of Freedom....how careful we are to ensure that she not spend the night outside alone, flying without light.....
